Community Outreach and Education
As a part of our commitment to our community, the Cobb County-Marietta both contributes and participates in efforts that support long term water demand forecasting, protection of natural resources, and advances in the science of water to protect public health and the environment in all areas of drinking water, wastewater, storm water, and reuse. This passion for water and the people that use it helped us create WaterSmart in 2000. WaterSmart is a water conservation education program that ensures residents have access to conservation information and materials.
WaterSmart
Cobb County Water System (CCWS) and Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority (CCMWA) partnered on the waterSmart program in 2005 and conduct three contests annually to give students at all grade levels an opportunity to learn about water conservation and the value of water.
The Three contests are:
- Coloring Book Contest with elementary school students
- Calendar Contest with middle school students
- Photography Contest with high school students
